"My creative process is to observe everything around me; mix it with imagination, inspiration, intuition, careful planning and release it to canvas or paper; uncensored and full of hope."
~Paris, Artist
In 2009, when I thought I gave up everything, I knew I still had my art. I remember sitting on the floor of my bedroom facing my blank canvases, brushes, paints, other supplies and I said to my art, "It's just you and me now; from this day forward, I am an artist. Let's see what you can do." My life transformed after that as I no longer saw myself as a frame of a corporate worker who has her art collecting dust waiting for her to bring it back to life. I became an artist who just happens to have a "job" with someone else for now. The artist within finally emerged. I knew it was time to put to life what I always wanted. I have always loved art and I have always loved people and helping people. I had already declared years ago that I did not have to be a doctor to help people. There was a unique way I help and that is in the simple ways that I give of myself each day, whether I am giving directions to a stranger, or simply being the first to say "good morning" while passing someone on the sidewalk. I knew I personally had something to give that could also bring beauty to the world and help in my own way. I wanted my art to help the world. It was the best way I could express my uniqueness while making the difference I always wanted to make. Days after this declaration, I was driving in my car and the worlds finally found their bridge! Paris' world of art and Paris' world of compassion for others met in an epiphany. I would use my art to make a difference. I knew it was time to bridge in life the two most important dreams I have always carried in my heart and soul; creating beauty in the world through art and helping people. I knew I had my own unique way of making a difference in peoples lives. My art is the best way I can express my uniqueness while making the difference I always wanted.
