Hi! Welcome to my website. My name is Paris and I am an artist who loves to explore and discover my creativity through a variety of media. I enjoy using pencil, ink, charcoal, acrylic, oils and water color. I began drawing at the age of two. Many circles with smiling faces and arms sticking out of their heads portraying my family would don the halls of our home; until one morning, my mom put a pen in my tiny hand and placed a piece of blank paper in front of me. A journey began in those early days, and became a lifelong dream to bridge my love of art with my love of helping others. My mission is to create original art that shares a message of positivity and hope with the hearts of individuals and communities, one canvas at a time.
I create from those moments, big and small, where my heart is inspired to make a difference. I truly believe that our world is a blank canvas and that each of us is a palette. We bring to this world the colors WE see. We each are our own artist...as individuals, as a community. When we believe in ourselves, we believe in others, in all of mankind. We are connected. We are all one. So each color is needed to complete this canvas we call earth. Each individual is needed and matters. And when this belief becomes a spark in ones heart, we have hope. My heart’s dream is thus named, "A Canvas of Hope."
As a child, I read a lot, wrote, drew, painted, gardened and loved sitting out in our backyard observing nature (which led to inspired drawings). I was very observant of the other kids in school mainly because I wanted to be as outwardly expressive as they were but I felt too shy. My drawings were my saving grace. Once my classmates knew I could draw, I would have a line by my desk every holiday, drawing cards and pictures for the kids to take home to their parents. I especially remember Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day as those had the longest lines; my shyness melted away while I drew many versions of flowers, puppies, kittens, bunnies at each request. It was like filling orders and I loved it because in that realm I felt totally comfortable. What began at age two, really changed my life. My art had given me a voice, a presence and my classmates became friends. :)
As I grew out of my shyness, what I believed in as a girl, I still believe in today. I was always meant to create and knew early on that being an artist was my dream. My life has definitely circled back to a time and place where I can fully realize my dream.
